The First Kiss – Standing (Part 3)
Written by Manny Diez
Wednesday, 19 December 2007

Once he drew, with one long kiss, my whole soul through my lips. - Alfred Lord Tennyson.

We’ve mentioned a very few locations for a seated kiss. A standing kiss offers an almost unlimited variety of settings.

To heighten the lovely anticipation, one of my favorite words in this context, consider talking with her about where that’s going to happen. By this time you both know it is going to happen. But where is still the question. Is this first kiss important enough for you both that you want to pick a spot that you’ll never forget? Maybe a special place where later you can go back, kiss again?

I’ll leave that lovely decision up to the two of you. For now, we’re talking about how kissing in a standing position is so different from sitting. First of all, when you know you are going to kiss her, you move so you’re facing her—a clear signal of your intentions. You look at her, into her eyes, and you know she’s looking forward to what’s about to happen.

As you look at her, you might feel the desire to take her face in your hands and hold it as though it was the most precious thing in the world—which, at this moment, it is. You might prefer putting your arms around her, pulling her close. That works. She’ll most likely hold you closer, too. The two of you are now just a few breaths away from your first kiss. You can feel the length of her body pressed up against yours, so unlike in the sitting kiss, where it might have been just your lips touching, now it’s a lot more of you—both of you.

Finally, your lips touch—your first kiss. As with the seated kiss, this one should also begin softly. Make this magical moment last as long as you can stand it before kissing her a second time, and letting her kiss you. You’re not kids anymore, so that second kiss might not be quite as soft as the first. Maybe she’ll be the one wanting a more insistent kiss. Maybe she’ll be the one pulling you closer, pressing herself tighter up against you. Maybe it will be you, the aggressor. It doesn’t matter at this moment. You just had your first kiss. One neither of you will ever forget. What comes next is your mutual expression of the growing passion you are now both feeling for each other.

You are still standing, kissing. It’s WONDERFUL! You thought about this all morning. You thought about it driving over to see her and now, here it is. Of course you’ll want to run your hands over her back, along her waist, pull her tighter. And of course you’ll never want to stop kissing her!
