A Great Place to Meet Women
Written by Manny Diez

I’m sure that along the way, you’ve read about the best places to meet someone. Me too. But purely by accident, I’ve discovered two that are really terrific! Veterinarians and Pet Stores.

I recently became the property of a kitten I rescued at the Humane Society. That was my initial visit to that location. Getting the paperwork etc, took maybe 45 minutes and as I waited, I noticed the women walking in and out carrying or leading their furry loved ones to the reception desk. I say women because during that time I did not see a single man. Sorry, ladies. This might not be such a hot place for you to meet men, but for you guys out there, it’s quite amazing.

The thing is, pet owners seem to form easy and quick connections with other pet owners. It’s better if you are both dog owners or cat lovers. All it takes is a single comment from you about what a cool looking dog or cat the lady is with. After that, you should have no trouble keeping the conversation going. You have a head start here since you both enjoy the companionship of the same type of pet. So easy to compare notes about the cute things dogs do. How you never really own a cat and so on.

I am going to take it for granted that the reason you will approached this particular pet owner is not because you think their pet is cute, but because you think they are. There is a bit of a time limit here. If they are dropping off their pet, then once the paper work is finished, they’ll be on their way. Same goes for you. This will be either a dropping-off or a picking-up visit, for both of you, so the clock is ticking.

At some point, and the situation will pretty much dictate that, you are going to have to casually and naturally shift the conversation from pets to humans. I am not going to write dialog for you. All I will tell you is, simply say what you’re feeling. How much you have enjoyed spending these few minutes with her, how you’re sure you’ll find many other things you might have in common over a cup of coffee, whatever.

Pet stores are in the same ballpark, but no clock is ticking here. People who visit pet stores have a serious connection to their pets. As you walk along the aisles looking around, you may find the cutest little dog sniffing your legs. Now and then, that sweet creature is on the end of a leash held by a lovely looking woman will ask her little sweetheart to “stop that.” You will bend over, let your silent partner sniff your hand. She will instantly recognize you are pet savvy and like that. One for your side.

No script needed here either. You can compare notes. You can ask her about which foods her doggie prefers. I say doggie because I have never seen anyone bring a cat into a pet store. Cats just don’t do that.

Veterinarians and pet stores. With any luck at all, a four-footed animal will help with the introduction.
